"For over two decades, the web has gravitated toward centralized cloud processing. While cloud compute makes sense for shared collaborative platforms, it is an unnecessary privacy risk for basic document manipulation, format conversion, and photo editing. Why should an employee have to upload a confidential quarterly spreadsheet to an unknown third-party server just to convert it from CSV to JSON? Why should an individual upload personal family photos to remove metadata?"
