Questions People Ask
Honest answers about how this works.
What even is the difference between Duotone and Tritone?
Great question. A Duotone maps an image's luminance values between two colors: one representing the shadows (dark areas) and one representing the highlights (light areas). A Tritone introduces a third color mapped to the midtones (middle brightness areas), allowing for much richer, stylized visual gradients.
How exactly do you calculate midtone split points in Tritone?
Great question. We convert each pixel to its weighted gray luminance value. If the value falls below the midpoint (50% brightness), we linearly interpolate between the shadow and midtone colors. If it falls above the midpoint, we interpolate between the midtone and highlight colors, ensuring a visual blend.
Is my personal data uploaded during the mapping process?
Great question. No. Just like the rest of our creative tools, all image processing occurs inside active canvas loops in your local browser. Your files are never sent to external servers.
