Example Use Case

Encode JWT claims, webhook payloads, or config objects into compact Base64 for URLs, headers, and database text fields — validated first, so broken JSON never ships.

Real-time Processing

All processing happens locally in your browser. Large files are handled in memory and never uploaded to any server.

JSON to Base64

Encode JSON for transport with our JSON to Base64 converter. Paste any JSON to validate it first, real parse errors with the engine's own messages, then encode the canonical form: compact minified output for the smallest API payloads, or pretty-printed for human-readable round-trips. UTF-8 safe encoding keeps emojis and international strings intact where naive encoders corrupt them. Broken JSON never encodes silently; it fails with the exact syntax problem. Everything runs instantly and locally in your browser.

Why This Tool Exists

What makes this useful — and why I built it this way.

Validated First: Syntax errors caught with precise messages.

Two Source Styles: Minified for size, pretty for clarity.

Unicode Safe: Emojis and global text encode correctly.

No Silent Failures: Broken JSON explains itself.

Local Processing: Data never leaves your browser.

When You'd Use This

Real situations where this tool saves the day.

JWT Creation: Encode claim sets for token building.

Webhook Testing: Pack JSON bodies into encoded fields.

Config Storage: Store objects in text-only settings.

URL State: Embed compact JSON in shareable links.

Database Fields: Keep structured data in text columns.

Using JSON to Base64

It's straightforward — here's how it works.

Step 1

Paste your JSON into the input.

Step 2

Choose compact or pretty source format.

Step 3

Click Process to validate and encode.

Step 4

Copy the Base64 result.

Questions People Ask

Honest answers about how this works.

What is the difference between this and Text to Base64?

Text to Base64 encodes anything blindly. JSON to Base64 parses and validates first, so only genuine JSON encodes, and you choose whether the source is minified or pretty before encoding.

Does my JSON leave the browser?

No. Parsing, validation, and encoding all run locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, logged, or stored.

Should I use compact or pretty source?

Compact for production payloads, URLs, and tokens where every byte counts. Pretty when a human will decode and read the result, since whitespace survives the round-trip.

Why did my JSON fail validation?

Common causes are trailing commas, single quotes, unquoted keys, and comments, none of which are legal JSON. The error message pinpoints the parser's complaint.
