Our Metadata Viewer reads the hidden technical record inside your image files and lays it out in clear, grouped sections. The file is posted to Imgira's own metadata endpoint, where the sharp image library decodes it and returns a structured report: format, pixel dimensions, aspect ratio, file size, DPI density, color space, channel count, bit depth, ICC profile presence, alpha channel, progressive encoding, orientation, and chroma subsampling. A collapsible raw output panel shows everything the parser found as formatted JSON with a one-click copy button, so no tag is lost in translation. The tool is strictly read-only, it never modifies or re-encodes your file, which makes it a fast way to audit a photo's technical profile before publishing or handing it to a client.

What image formats are supported?
Great question. The viewer reports on JPEG, PNG, WebP, and TIFF files, plus anything else the sharp image library can decode, showing format, dimensions, color space, and encoding flags for each. If a file cannot be parsed, the tool returns a clear error instead of a partial report.
Can I really edit the metadata here?
Short answer: This tool is for viewing only; it never writes to your file. It reports what is already embedded and leaves the image untouched. To remove sensitive data, please use our EXIF Remover tool, which strips those tags and returns a clean copy.
Does my image leave the browser?
The file is posted to Imgira's own metadata endpoint so sharp can parse it, then only the report comes back. The image is not stored, logged, or added to any gallery, and nothing about it is shared with third parties at any point during the request.
