Are my annotations saved permanently?
Yes, when you export the PDF, all annotations are permanently embedded into the new PDF file as rendered content.
Is the PDF uploaded to a server?
Great question. No. Everything runs locally in your browser using pdfjs-dist for rendering and pdf-lib for export.
Can I really edit existing text in the PDF?
Short answer: PDF Editor currently supports adding new annotations (text, highlights, drawings) on top of pages. Editing existing text content is not supported.
