Are these rotations lossless?
Yes. The server passes your image to sharp, which rearranges the pixel buffer for 90-degree turns instead of resampling, and flips are mirrored rows and columns. Output quality stays effectively identical to the source. The only unavoidable change is that EXIF orientation data is cleared, since the pixels now match the applied angle.
Can I really rotate by specific degrees (e.g. 45°)?
This tool is built around 90-degree steps plus horizontal and vertical flips, which keep pixel grids aligned and edges sharp. For arbitrary angles like 45 degrees, use the Deskew Image tool, whose slider spans minus 45 to plus 45 degrees with a live alignment grid, then return here for clean quarter turns.
Does the output keep the original format and metadata?
